Classic Brownies
No one can resist the taste of this old-fashioned recipe!
Prep Time: 40 to 45 min
Classic Brownies Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons Mexican Vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Classic Brownies Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9 x 9 inch baking pan. Set aside.
Melt butter. Let cool to lukewarm.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, beat together sugar, eggs, cooled butter, vegetable oil and Mexican Vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa. Combine well. Add walnuts. Using a spatula to get every last drop of luscious chocolate, scrape batter into prepared baking pan.
Bake in preheated 350°F oven until a tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 35 - 40 minutes. Cool in pan set on top of rack. When slightly warm, they may be cut. Yield: about 16 brownies
